Come Visit -- Troy River Street Festival

I'll be selling Twinkle Studio jewelry at the Troy River Street Festival on Saturday. Stop by anytime between 10am and 6pm. 

There should be some pretty neat things worth checking out:

- Street painting contest. This is a sidewalk chalk art extravaganza! Check out last year's winner and other entries by clicking here and visiting AOA's site. 

- Fried fair food (always a treat)

- 100+ juried, handcrafted art vendors (woot!)

- Live music on two stages including Cracker and Mike Doughty...and the music is free!

There's a 40% chance of rain, so bring an umbrella or one of those really cool, retro plastic rain scarves (like your Granny wears).

Smells Like Reese

I've always liked Reese Witherspoon and, I guess, now I can smell like her. And you can, too! 

Today she launched a new perfume with Avon, who she's been working with for a while now as their "Global Ambassador." The perfume is called In Bloom. 

Plus, I have to mention this...check out her earrings!

Drool...Chanel Long Necklaces

I am a big personal fan of long, drapey necklaces...especially when a girl can pull off wearing several of them. I stumbled upon and have been lusting over these new long necklaces from Chanel. 

They're classic and modern at the same time. Pure Chanel! 

 

These make me want to grab my pliers and dream up some long, flowy necklaces...with little baubles of sparkle and color splashed throughout.

Emmy Rossum is darling and her jewelry and clothing configurations below are adorable.

3 Shimmery Summer Accessories

I think summer is FINALLY here! Although I busted out my sandals and summer gear weeks ago...and have been freezing since. 

So now that it's truly warm outside, grab just a few shimmery summer accessories to add a little zip to your summer outfits. These three pieces are so versatile they could zhuzz up a t-shirt and jeans or a little black dress.

Oh Zooey...Girl Crush

How cute is Zooey Deschanel?  I love her sweet and vintage, but zany style...in her clothes, hair, and choices of characters she plays. I especially adore her character, Kat, in Weeds. She's a full-on looney, but entirely likeable and fun.

T Compulsion

I don't think I've quite hit obsession, but I can't get enough of plain t-shirts for the summer! Yellow, blue, purple, gray...and, of course, white. 

My favorites are from H&M (sorry, no on-line shopping) and Gap. Simple, soft, splash-of-color t's! I've looked locally for some that I like, but not much luck at a reasonable price. Let me know if any local fashionistas have some suggetions. 

The ones I love from H&M are v-neck and a bit longer...and the fabric is very light-weight and lush. PLUS they're about $7...sweet!   

This one  from the Gap is near perfection. Plus some of the colors are already on sale! The cut is fantastic...fitted, yet loose and comfy. The length is just perfect and it has cute cuffed sleeves (that launder quite nicely). 

There's nothing better for the summer fashion. T's are perfect for topping short-shorts, bermudas, skirts, jeans, or chinos.  Tips for Wearing T-Shirts: 

- Try a pearl necklace with any color t. This will dress it up instantly. 

- Add a cool belt. Maybe a super skinny one over a long one or a chunky one with a t tucked in. 

- Top it off with a neutral-colored jacket and let some color peep through

- Wear a scarf to add some texture

- Plain t's are an ideal canvas for layering any kind of jewelry...especially sparkly, fun jewelry from Twinkle Studio . 

I love this Lanvin t, but at $1,086 it's quite an investment. I'd love to make a fun t like this for a fashion-forward girl...any takers?
